On 27 May 2025, the Insurance Institute of Gauteng hosted its highly anticipated Presidential Golf Day 2025, and what an extraordinary day it turned out to be! Held at one of Gauteng’s premier golf estates, the event brought together a powerhouse mix of insurance professionals, industry leaders, clients, and service providers — all united for a day of play, partnership, and purpose.
Under the warm leadership of IIG President Wilmine Prinsloo, the day exceeded every expectation. From the early morning check-ins to the final toast at the prize-giving ceremony, the event embodied the spirit of unity, excellence, and heart that defines the IIG.
The Golf Experience
With a shotgun start and a perfectly manicured course, players hit the greens with a mix of excitement and light-hearted competition. Whether a seasoned golfer or first-time participant, everyone felt part of something special.
What made this year’s event stand out was the remarkable presence of sponsors — almost every hole featured a unique activation or experience, ranging from branded giveaways and golf challenges to refreshments, entertainment, and more. Each activation brought its own flavour, adding energy and charm to the course and creating lasting memories for all who played.
From ice-cold drinks to quirky mini-games, every stop along the course was a celebration in itself — a true showcase of the creativity and commitment within our industry.
Playing for a Purpose: Supporting Children with Autism
This year’s Golf Day was not just about fun and networking. It was about giving back. In a heartfelt shift toward social impact, all proceeds and contributions from the event are being directed toward initiatives that support children with autism.
These funds will help create opportunities for education, therapy, and care for young people on the autism spectrum — a cause that resonates deeply with the IIG community.
As Wilmine said in her address:
“We’re here today not only to strengthen our industry connections but to make a real difference. Supporting children with autism is a cause that touches the heart — and today, we played with purpose.”
Presidential Leadership in Action
Now a few months into her tenure, President Wilmine Prinsloo has continued to lead with grace, grit, and generosity. This event was a reflection of her values: inclusivity, collaboration, innovation — and always doing good while doing well.
Wilmine’s presence was felt on every fairway, as she personally greeted teams, thanked sponsors, and celebrated the shared success of the day. Her gratitude was clear:
“Thank you to every sponsor, every player, and every supporter. The success of today is not just measured in scorecards — it’s seen in the laughter, the conversations, the generosity, and the sense of purpose we shared.”
Thank You to Our Incredible Sponsors
To our sponsors — you were the heartbeat of the day. Your activations, energy, and investment took this event to new heights. Your presence at nearly every hole transformed a standard golf day into a dynamic journey across the course.
Your support will go far beyond the green — it will change lives
Celebrating the Champions
The evening prize-giving dinner was a stylish affair, filled with delicious food, great company, and recognition for the day’s top performers. While there were winners on the scoreboards, it’s safe to say that everyone who participated left with something far greater — connection, inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Until Next Time…
The IIG Presidential Golf Day 2025 wasn’t just a calendar event — it was a landmark moment in our year. It reminded us of what’s possible when our industry unites: business meets heart, and fun meets impact.
