Class of 2021 Launch

#YourIIG ended the week with a phenomenal afternoon spent welcoming students to the launch of Class of 2021. The afternoon kicked-off with a bit of socially distant mingling followed by the formalities. IIG Deputy President, Thabo Twala was the MC for the day  and IIG President-Elect Tshepiso Chocho opened the ceremony and welcomed the students emphasizing how excited she is to watch each and every person grow on this journey. Tshepiso also thanked Sasria for their continuous support of the IIG Programmes.

Linda Coetzee also welcomed the Class Of students with the energy and enthusiasm we’ve come to know and appreciate. Jenna then addressed the students and briefly outlined the content of the programme. She advised that dedication and hard work will certainly earn the victory and at the end of the year nobody will be alone, instead, everyone will stand as one tribe. The groups were then formed and will remain until the end of the year.

Masego Pule, the future leader and peer group award for the Class Of 2020 addressed all in attendance. She advised that the journey was immensely beneficial and dedication and a positive attitude is what you need most to get through the year.

Thabo then introduced Tamara Naidoo of OMI, who’s been in the industry for about 20 years and stated that it was extremely motivating to see so many young people joining and growing in our industry. She advised that OMI appreciate young talent as well as developing the youth of Africa. In current times it’s important to focus on creative ways to network, engage and get noticed whilst many still work from home.

Thabo closed the proceedings and provided a short summary echoing all the speaker’s content. He ended by saying that everyone is in this industry to make a difference so we should all #BeTheDifference
