Councillor Profile: Chelene Naidoo and Riccardo Raciti

Chelene Naidoo: Co-opted council member
Chelene started her career in the insurance industry in 2014 at Camargue Underwriting Managers as a receptionist and executive personal assistant.

Having completed marketing and advanced programmes through UNISA, Chelene was appointed as the Marketing Co-ordinator for the Liability Academy for Brokers (now known as Camargue Academy) in 2016.

As a young creative leader, she believes in adopting a growth mindset to passionately pursue bold and well executed concepts that accelerate brand building.

Chelene currently holds a Brand Manager position at Camargue and heads up the Brand, Risk Management and Camargue Academy divisions. In early 2018, she joined the Insurance Institute of Gauteng in the marketing portfolio as an ambassador and was recently appointed as a co-opted council member.

Whilst developing skills and experience in an era where creativity and technology meet, she is focused on driving innovation through creative agility and abrasion.

If not creating, Chelene loves to read, attend yoga classes, and is a commercial model with Alushi Models.

Riccardo Raciti – Ambassadorial marketing member
Riccardo started his career as a life insurance broker in Cape Town, where he gained first-hand experience on what it takes to be an intermediary. He later went on to work for a leading insurance media company for several years which enabled him to build a holistic view of the insurance industry and apply the skills he learnt after completing his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Brand Leadership and various digital marketing courses.

His passion for the insurance industry has recently seen him move to Gauteng from the mother city to take up the position as the brand manager at Oakhurst Insurance as well as join the IIG as an ambassodorial member.

Riccardo has travelled extensively and in addition to attending conferences overseas (his highlight being Uganda), he counts himself lucky enough to have attended two IIG International trips. These have taken him to London, Munich, Hong Kong and Singapore to visit large international brokerages, insurers and reinsurers.

In his spare time, Riccardo likes to go paddling, travelling, reading and spending time with his boisterous family.
