IIG News

From Cyber Insurance to The Future that is Agriculture

Yet another resounding success for #WisdomWednesday in the month of September with the IIG delivering 2 successful online Insights Session on the Cyber & Agri Insurance solutions. This month saw a total of 5 speakers from across the industry covering these webinars with a mixture of technical knowledge, and practical real-world implementation. With another record for registrations and attendance broken, #YourIIG continues to grow the pillar of relevant educational initiatives and giving back to its members and the industry at large.

The month of October

The first of these sessions was delivered in partnership with Bryte Insurance Company Limited, with speakers from Sophos and Phishield, leaders in the Cyber Insurance arena. This session outlined the most recent consequences of the protection gap where cyber insurance is concerned and outlined solutions that equip businesses with the necessary tools and coverage options for their needs.

The second session saw Hollard Insurance support the delivery of a relevant topic on the world of farming, and the necessity to build strong relationships between insurers, brokers and clients in the agriculture industry. The need for robust insurance coverage in this domain is crucial to providing comfort for farmers that their livelihoods are protected, and for ensuring the value-chain of #Agri products are sufficiently safeguarded.

Over the course of this year, #YourIIG has delivered 11 Insights sessions (1 in-person & 10 virtual) covering a wide variety of industry and professional development topics relevant to its members and the insurance community at large. All of this effort has provided 13 CPD points to date and all content shared, recordings and slides can be accessed through the CPD Vault.

Looking ahead

As this year starts to slowly wrap up, the team now pivots to delivering in-person sessions for the month of October, with 2 industry leading partnerships with The IIG; first up is Munich Re on the 15th of October 2025, discussing “Reinsurance In A World of Growing Uncertainty”. This promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking morning filled with meaningful conversations about the interconnectedness and complexity of risks today and how reinsurance plays a crucial role in building solutions that provide stability and resilience.

The second in-person session takes place at the end of October with specialists from law firms and insurers unpacking D&O cover, business rescue and the evolution of insurance to become fit-for-purpose to address the very real challenges in this domain.

Both sessions and any additional information will be provided by The IIG to the market so keep a close eye on our LinkedIn page and your email inboxes.

All these extraordinary conversations throughout the year are carefully planned and executed by Council members of #YourIIG and while this is not the last edition of the #WisdomWednesdays update, it is fitting to recognise all of the effort it takes to bring the industry good quality content and industry defining thought leadership to insurance professionals on a monthly basis.
