The “Class of 2020” Bokamoso Tribe (meaning Future) and Phakama Tribe (meaning Rise Up) includes 30+ dynamic young industry talent employed in insurance and ready to make a valuable difference in their sector.
In addition to their study programme, the class of 2020 delegates are tasked with raising funds for a worthy cause. This year they have chosen the IIG academic programme. Though the start to the academic programme has been delayed until August 2020, the tribes have kicked off their fundraising efforts with great vigour.
Their mission is to assist to eradicate poverty thus #InsuringTomorrow by raising funds for the IIG academic programme which is run in partnership with GIFS (Graduate Institute of Financial Services/Sciences). The Insurance Academic Programme is a formal structured programme that runs for a 1 year period, with a curriculum aligned to the national certificate in short-term insurance (NQF 5).The programme is targeted to accommodate school leavers (or those with a NQF 4 qualification/Matric certificate) from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
GIFS has proven to be a trailblazer in the transformation of education to create a better Africa for others to inherit and plays an integral role in moulding the minds of future generations of financial services game-changers by continuously evolving its education experience through innovation.
