IIG Class of 2023 Amabutho and IIGEEZ Final presentation preparations

For the first time in over 8 months, the two teams shared a classroom, what an amazing feeling after not seeing each other in months. The IIG class of 2023 program has brought a lot of emotions in one year, from learning about yourself, being vulnerable, and how to get out of vulnerability to fun running around fundraising exercises that involved a lot of teamwork and networking.  This program has touched our lives and made a difference, both in our personal and professional lives.

Our last class session with both teams was a heated, nerve-wracking fun day with lots of mind games that test your public speaking skills, stepping out of your comfort zone was the order of the day. We were all challenged to do a prepared and unprepared (IMPROMPTU) presentation with a random topic you chose. It was a scary, however lovely feeling to stand in front of a full classroom and present. This really made a lot of us step out of our comfort zone and gain confidence and skills to master public speaking.

This year has been truly amazing, and I think all of us will do great in the final presentation, the support and assistance we got and still getting from Linda and Jenna Coetzee is extremely wonderful.

If I could do this again, I would not even hesitate. The program has played a huge role in building my self-esteem and trusting myself in the professional environment. I learned this phrase in the beginning of the year – If it scares you do it! Remember you gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. This is your brand, embrace it and never stop working on it or yourself. With that being said, I look forward to the final presentation and I know we will all nail it.

It is really an honor to be part of this initiative – Team Amabutho!!!
