IIG Class Of 2025 – Official Call For Nominations & Application!


 

Education and the development of young talent is a major challenge facing the insurance industry.
 

The IIG Class Of 2025 is a one-year programme aimed at developing and retaining young talent within the insurance industry through exposure, experience, and leadership development.
 
This Programme is designed to give a selected group of young insurance professionals: 

  • Exposure: to companies in the insurance industry and the opportunity to meet and gain knowledge from experienced individuals in the industry. 
  • Experience: the ability to gain deeper technical knowledge in selected areas of insurance. 
  • Leadership & Mentorship: the opportunity to develop general business acumen and leadership skills through interaction with Captains of the industry.

 
The Class of 2025 will attend selected IIG calendar events thus allowing them to learn from the various educational seminars and to build up their own networks at events.
 
 
IIG Class of 2025 activities during the year

  • 5 full day sessions, a mix of classroom and virtual
  • Various IIG Insight & Networking events as outlined below
  • Online e-learning courses
  • Charity Project, Social media challenge & Networking Challenges
  • Students are required to attend 100% of in-class sessions, 80% of Education events and 60% of networking events to pass this programme.
  • During the fifth module the learners present a 15-minute presentation on what they have learned and how their skills are being implemented. This takes place in front of a panel of judges.
  • Delegates will also have opportunities throughout the year to elevate their profiles through articles, profiles and reports being features in the monthly IIG Newsletter, The Informer and on social media platforms.
  • The best student has the opportunity to enter The Insurance Apprentice Selection Criteria for the IIG Class of 2025.

 
Selection Criteria for the IIG Class of 2025 
Only candidates that are currently working in the insurance industry for a member/sponsor company of the IIG will qualify and preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
 

  • Under the age of 35
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in the insurance industry
  • Leadership potential and a personality that will contribute to the group and the industry
  • All applications with a strong senior management motivation will be considered
  • Efforts will be made to create a diverse group of candidates that will stimulate learning within the group and diversity.

 
What we need from our member companies
We would appreciate your consideration and nomination of candidates for the IIG Class of 2025.
 
All candidates will be discussed and considered with the following information:
 

  • A formal application form via link: Class of 2025 Registration
  • A short CV and job description
  • Commitment from the member company for the time required for the candidate to attend
  • A short motivation as to why the candidate should be considered for the IIG Class of 2025.
  • A delegate registration fee of R8 925.00 excluding VAT, R including VAT (payable on acceptance only) – R 10 263,75 in total.

 
Entries to be received by Tuesday, 14th January 2025.
All applicants are to please note that shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief interview with a selection panel. These interviews will occur on the 20 & 21 January 2025.
 
Accepted candidates will be notified of their acceptance and the confirmation of their scheduled interview time by the 30th January 2025.
