IIG International Delegate Briefing Session – London Trip Loading……!

Deciding on an IIG international trip destination is one thing, however, getting the buy-in from the industry participants of the country we are visiting is another, and the most crucial is getting backing from our members. This year’s support of the IIGI has again been phenomenal on all fronts. All engagements are now confirmed, the trip fully booked, and we are now officially counting down. It is only a few weeks until the African Insurance industry delegation flies off to the UK as we #LinkUp Africa to the world through insurance.

We are privileged to belong to a truly global industry, and what better place to have this trip than to the homeland of modern insurance as we know it today. This Ultimate Educational and Networking Experience gives us the opportunity to interact with various markets for the benefit of the many industries and individuals we serve.

Earlier this month, the IIG had its International Trip delegate briefing session, the attendance told a story about how excited and prepared the delegates are for the experience. For 2024, we have 31 delegates of 9 nationalities,11 industry meetings & engagements planned, traveling for 9 days in full. We are visiting 2 cities with the agenda to network, learn and share knowledge on a global platform.

The briefing session is very important in the lead up to the trip, as it provides delegates with:

  • Greater information about the trip, the itinerary, what to look forward to, and everything people need to know about visa processes etc.

  • We also have a delegate from a previous trip sharing their experience.

  • The session allows people to ask questions and enquire more about all the detail? for example flight and hotels, how we will be getting in-between the various planned meetings, tips about the country being visited, the culture, and some of the best places to visit outside the planned schedule, making for a wholesome experience.

One of the best parts of the briefing session is the networking because it gives everyone the opportunity to interact ahead of the trip as some will be meeting each other for the first time.

What stood out on the day was the significantly higher number of first-time travellers this year, and that majority of the group has not yet travelled to London. It makes the experience even more special. The IIGI has a different experience to it even for the experienced traveller. It is designed to maximize the experience of both avid as well as first time travellers alike, and we look forward to this opportunity in our role to create a platform for insurance professionals to #Connect #Engage & #Grow

A great word of gratitude and thanks goes to all the companies sending people, and to our sponsors for this session, Hollard, iTOO Special Risks, Camargue Underwriting Managers, ApexU, and CN&Co
