IIG Night Golf Tournament

The Insurance Industry is one that is well known for taking risks. We work hard and play hard but building relationships and giving back to the community is something very dear to our hearts. In the last “Class Of” article we introduced iKholwa Children’s Home as our chosen charity for the year.

On Wednesday the 22nd of May, the Class of 2019 attended the first IIG Night Golf tournament for 2019 at the Randpark Golf Club. This was the first event that the “Class of” group attended to raise funds for Ikholwa Children’s home.

Upon arrival, the golfers were escorted to the registration table where they received Santam branded goodie bags and welcome drinks. Players were urged to support Ikholwa Children’s home by purchasing a “Party Paradise Package”.  The package enabled them to participate at Class of game arena, enjoy drinks at the lovely Gin bar (sponsored by Itoo) and also allowed them to enjoy the great vibe and company of the “Class of” members at hole number 15.

The sponsors for this event went all out to ensure that the players of these 10 glow in the dark holes were entertained. Santam, also the main sponsor for this event welcomed players on hole nr 17 with a Western Theme. Our 2019 President Carla Jordan, and immediate past president Daniel Stevens were featured in the tent as Most wanted and definitely enjoyed the evening networking with all the players. The Santam hole did not only provide guests with tasty western food and drinks, but also with great heating and a fun themed environment, thank you to Santam for all the effort that went into organizing all the goodies for the players and hosting them at this hole.

At hole nr 10 we had a beautiful glow in the dark setup from Mirabilis where players could glow in the dark fish, have glow shots and awesome snacks for the course. Glassfit welcomed players at hole nr 13 with awesome snacks, drinks, fun and a lit up fairway to guide players. Thank you to both these sponsors for your continued support!

Once the golfers arrived at hole number 15, they were welcomed with zealousness and good energetic vibes – comprising of Cheerleaders & a mini Choir made up of Class of 2019 Students. Each golfer had an opportunity to participate in various activities/games that the “Class of” group created. The games arena brought about a fun & relaxed atmosphere on the golf course. Golfers also had an opportunity to help raise funds by donating at the Pledge & Donation Stand. A big thank you to Itoo for sponsoring the amazing glow in the dark Gin Bar and The Fulcrum Group for covering our stand on the night.

The IIG Night Golf was a great way for all participants to take a break from their busy schedules to enjoy the outdoors and networking opportunities. Welcome-back drinks sponsored by Guy Carpenter and a cocktail-style dinner and awaited the players as they conquered the last Hole.

The dinner included a prize-giving ceremony which was shortly followed by an Auction, where Golfers got the opportunity to bid for an Ikholwa Children’s Home calendar and other golfing merchandise. The Class of 2019 would like to thank all donors and participants who helped us raise over R28 000.
