Nelson Mandela once said, ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done.’
When I started this program, I did not know what to expect. I was reluctant and wished I did not have to do it. But looking backward today, I am beyond grateful for having taking part in this journey. From the lessons learned to the connections made.
My ILDP journey was rich with revelations that will undoubtedly shape my approach to leadership in the years to come. This course served as a crucible where theory and practice converged, offering a unique opportunity to delve into the multifaceted dimensions of leadership. From pointing communication skills to raising a profound understanding of team dynamics and personal mastery.
As I embarked on this transformative journey, the overarching goal was clear: to emerge not only as a competent professional but as a catalyst for positive change within my organization and beyond.
What made it even more interesting is that each lesson was put into practice through real-world scenarios, simulations, and case studies.
Not only has the programme equipped me for my leadership journey in the corporate world, but it has also given me tools to sharpen my mindset and reinforce my values and ethics. I have learned to have mindful moments and be aware of my systems thinking level.
By nature, in the quiet, I found myself opening up to the rest of the team throughout the journey and expressing my ideas freely.
To confess, at times, I felt like giving up. I felt like it was too much work. I sometimes had to burn a candle to make sure I could submit my paper. Today, I am more than thankful for the challenges overcome, and the insights gained during this transformative leadership course. The journey has been nothing short of transformative, shaping my perspective and approach to team collaboration and leadership.
Graduation day was, for me, a celebration of perseverance and determination. What once seemed impossible, because of the amount of work, became possible. It was proof that I have made it to the end. Henry Ford said, ‘if you think you can or if you think you cannot, either way you are correct’.
In conclusion, embarking in this leadership program has been a transformative journey marked by personal and professional growth. I am grateful for this journey and the lessons learned.
