The IIG hosted its 95th Annual General Meeting on the 29th of January 2019 at the Santam Auditorium. Over 85 delegates gathered to hear the Outgoing President, Daniel Stevens, provide feedback and highlight the many successes of 2018. The IIG Celebrated 107 years of being part of the Insurance Industry.
The newly elected team of executive members was confirmed on the day with Carla Jordan (Emerald Risk) assuming the position of President, Darryl Grater (Discovery Insure) of Deputy President and Clifford Mack (Nedbank Insurance) of Vice President.
The new council members included; Thabo Twalo (Munich Re), Tshepiso Chocho (Sasria SOC), Precious Ndluli (Discovery Insure) and Simphiwe Mtyali (Matrix Insurance & Reinsurance Brokers) and joined the exco members for the first official council meeting of 2019.
The was tremendous amounts of enthusiasm amongst the newly elected council who vowed to deliver on the IIG’s strategic pillars of providing effective education and networking platforms, creating tangible transformation and impact as well as developing strong affiliation and pride for members.
Carla Jordan echoed this by stating that she is looking forward to a very exciting year for the IIG and will ensure that her passion for insurance will inspire others to view insurance as a career of choice, not chance.
