YOURIIG -Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Initiative | MiDesk

The Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG) is excited to announce its 2024 Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiative, which is designed specifically for the new “Class of” cohort. Each year, the IIG curates a unique initiative that not only seeks to raise funds but also aligns closely with its vision of contributing positively to the insurance market and the communities it serves. This year, the initiative is inspired by the motto #Linkup, encouraging participants to connect with a meaningful purpose and the causes they value and love.

The #Linkup motto is also meant to serve as inspiration for the cohort, motivating them to engage with a variety of initiatives that aim to provide society with opportunities make a positive impact. The IIG believes that by linking up with these causes, they can amplify their efforts to effect change and support those in need.

Throughout the year, the “Class of 2024” has been actively involved in a series of fundraising activities, including a Paddle tournament, Games Night, and participation in IIG Golf days. Their hard work and dedication have culminated in an impressive total of about R500,000 raised so far marking the highest amount ever collected by a Class of’ in the IIG history. This remarkable achievement reflects the commitment and enthusiasm of the cohort, the support of the industry, and they are to be commended for their efforts.

 

In addition to their fundraising activities, the IIG has partnered with MiDesk Global and Mamas Alliance to identify a deserving NGO for their donations. This collaboration is vital in ensuring that the funds raised will have a direct and meaningful impact on the community. 

As the year progresses and with a few months remaining before the official handover, the cohort is optimistic about their ability to raise even more funds through additional planned activities.

The handover ceremony for the donated desks will take place at NOSA, an NGO located in Winterveld, just outside Pretoria on November 15, 2024, starting at 13:00. The IIG warmly invites the industry to attend this significant event, which will celebrate the culmination of the cohort’s hard work and the positive impact they have made.

Additionally, all companies and individuals who contributed to the fundraising efforts will receive their S18A certificates following the ceremony, acknowledging their generous support and commitment to community upliftment.

 

In summary, the IIG’s 2024 CSI initiative exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and purpose-driven action. Through the #Linkup motto, the “Class of 2024” is not only raising funds, but also fostering connections within the community, ultimately striving to create a lasting positive impact for those they serve.
