Halfway There: Growing Together as the Class of 2026

#AspireTogether

We’ve officially reached the halfway mark of our IIG journey, and words can hardly capture how incredible it has been so far. With each session, the teams grow closer, and stronger.

We began as a group of professionals, uncertain of what we had signed up for and unsure of how to show up. Yet with each interaction, we’ve grown into something far greater than colleagues we’ve become a true team, connected by trust, laughter, and shared purpose.

Our second activation at the IIG Night Golf event was a turning point. Vuka Vanguard brought unmatched energy, filling the evening with laughter, games, and camaraderie. We proudly raised funds for the Amor initiative through raffle ticket sales, and the success of the night showed just how much our team had opened up. The walls were coming down, and I couldn’t have been prouder.

Riding the high of Golf Night, we entered our next session with Linda and Jenna, ready for growth. Their July session on Mental Health was eye-opening. Together, we explored vulnerabilities and shared how trauma has shaped our lives. The transparency was refreshing, and the respect in the room was palpable. It was inspiring to witness the strength of my teammates as they spoke openly, creating a safe space that cemented our bond.

On 18 July 2026, IIG Class of 2026 – Team Vuka Vanguard hosted our very first fundraising event a hike at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve. Despite the cold winter morning, the turnout was fantastic. The camaraderie and determination of our team shone through, making the event a success while raising funds and enjoying the beauty of nature.

I am truly thankful to be part of this journey, and I know I could not have made it this far without the support of Genoa Underwriting Managers. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of the IIG Class of 2026 and for always cheering me on and allowing me the space to grow.

I am deeply proud of what we’ve achieved together thus far and excited for what lies ahead. Being part of the IIG Class of 2026 has been a rewarding experience, and I am grateful every day that I chose to embark on this path.
