Renay Pillay, Executive director of Insurance Projects at the Fire Protection Association of Southern Africa (FPASA) looks to unpack this topic in more detail as she has more than a decade of risk management experience.
As she takes us on a journey through history from the great fire of London in 1666 to the more recent Ghostship Warehouse in Oakland California, where 36 lives were lost in 2016. She will look at fire hazards and how they could have been prevented, where many lives could have been spared with better risk management rules had been undertaken in these instances.
