Daphne Peter – IIG Education Portfolio and Head of Risk Finance at Hollard Insure
Daphne began her illustrious career in 1982 when she joined the finance team at Robert Enthoven Insurance Brokers. Here she was mentored and trained across all finance disciplines within the company.
Two years later she accepted a position within the company as an internal technical backup to the Corporate Team. This led Daphne to discover that she had a keen interest in all the technical aspects of Corporate Insurance Broking and this soon became one of her major strengths. The next 8 years found Daphne working across a diverse list of corporate accounts from various industries, which enabled her to gain in-depth insurance technical broking experience.
In 1993, the company was bought by Alexander Forbes after experiencing a number of mergers and Daphne was promoted to the Technical Director position of the broking technical team which dealt with large multinational accounts. In this arena Daphne was exposed to large SA Multinational Companies with diverse insurance portfolios which solidified her technical knowledge.
Having spent 22 years in Corporate broking, Hollard Insurance came knocking on her door in 2005.
