In IIG tradition, the President’s Golf Day is held annually to celebrate the newly appointed president, and this year it is Thabo Twalo. The sun shone brightly over Illovo as the teams made their final preparations for the annual Presidents Golf Day on 21 April 2022. After addressing attendees on the morning, Thabo officially opened the field as he teed off the first hole.
The outdoor event was a good opportunity for the Insurance Industry to cement existing relationships as well as build new ones after 2 years of lack of or very little in-person interaction. Golfers aimed to win prizes for closest to pin, score, and the longest drive. Not only was the event a fun day, but also, with the generosity of the industry, The IIG Class of 2022 raised R11 000. The money will go towards the IIG academic programme, aimed at learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, to give them a qualification and skills to help them be work-ready.
