IIG hosts their Ladies Day High Tea in true Wonderland style

#YourIIG hosted a beautiful Ladies Day, A Mad hatters Tea Party, on the 8th of August at the Indaba Hotel. Wondrous Main Sponsors Marsh & Santam, and marvellous co-sponsors; Constantia, Discovery Insure, Emerald, Fulcrum, Insure Group, Sasria SOC and Tracker ensured that the ladies in attendance had a beautiful Mad Hatters Wonderland experience!

Pink Flamingo Croquet, Flowered Teacups, Pink Lemonade topped with CandyFloss, Delicate Delicious Treats, Lace and Pearls were just some of the spoils for all in attendance.

In true Alice in Wonderland style, a High Tea spread filled with delicious foods filled the centre of the room. A wide array of savoury treats and of course a mouth-watering dessert selection. A Drink Me station kept our guests’ thirsts quenched the full evening through.

As per tradition, #YourIIG Deputy President and Queen of Hearts, Carla Jordan, hosted the event, and had the opportunity to share her passion for uplifting other women and teaching respect to the youth in our Industry.

President Daniel Stevens was the luckiest man in the room, enjoying a tea party with the exceptional women of our industry. We had the honour of hosting Past President, Tracy McLaughlin and IIG Council members, Natasha Maroun, Daniella Froemmel, Daphne Peter, Simphiwe Mtyali, and Chelene Naidoo. The lovely Chair Lady of the GWII, Nicky Eveleigh,

Alecia Joubert from U-Bella did an all-round Image consultancy that each lady in the room could relate to. Sticking to the theme of Mad Hatters, Alecia took us all on a journey Through the Looking Glass and showed us not only how to highlight our perfection but also had us laughing and entertained. Alecia gave out prizes to 4 ladies for Mini Make-Overs and Make-Up Workshops to equip them with the right products and skills to maintain a flawless look. The prizes were valued at R950 each.

Sponsor activations ensured the ladies in attendance were given extra special treatment and a most memorable experience. Insure Group hosted a beautifully displayed cake stand where ladies were spoiled with delicious individually decorated mini cakes to take home, and Alice in Wonderland themed cookies. Insure Group handed a lucky winner a high tea experience for two at the Michelangelo Hotel.

Santam’s lucky draw winners Dineo Sethunya and Mapeseka Moate each received Le Creuset Products worth R700 each.
Constantia sent every guest home with a stunning gift; a compact mirror & bag handle topped with a chocolate.
Emerald made sure that all the wine for the evening flowed and was freely poured.
Tracker provided hours of photobooth fun, ensuring that every guest had a photo-strip filled with memories to take home.
The Class of 2018 ladies had laughter filling the air with games like “What’s in the rabbit hole”, “Pin the grin” and “What in Wonderland”, beautiful prizes were handed out to the ladies who had the best scores during the Mad Hatter games. These games were played for a small donation made to the Class Of 2018’s charity: AMOR.

Inspiration can be drawn from the very women in our industry, our fellow friends and colleagues.  Every woman in her own way has something incredible to share with another. Ladies also had the opportunity to share how someone else in the room has motivated them. Little did the they know that they would also win a prize for nominating someone & sending a shout-out to a deserving industry friend!

It was a heartfelt moment to hear how much appreciation and love was in the room, with ladies sharing positive thoughts & messages with one another.
