#YourIIG caught up with Natasha Maroun, IIG Councillor Head – Marketing & National Head: Jewellery, Fine Art & Specie at Bryte Insurance. Here’s what she had to say..

Have you ever travelled overseas before and which is your favourite destination?

I do believe I have some mermaid DNA as an island or ocean is definitely far higher on my favourite destination places than Europe or anywhere else.  The Seychelles, Phuket and Mauritius because of this all rank up there.  The people are all so friendly and more relaxed and approachable than in the very busy metropolitan cities of the world.

What is your favourite thing to do on an aeroplane?

Movies, sleeping and shopping in that order.  No rush, no pressure and so much time to indulge in all three.

Why have you decided to join IIG Global 2019?

The days of the USA being the aspirational green card country seems to be a thing of the past.  The country like so many others, ours included has its own challenges and interesting issues.  It still is the country were most trends originate and the rest of the world follow.  Hollywood, NASA  and Nike are all household names.

If you had one travel tip for first-time travellers what would it be?

Put everything you think you need to pack out, then half that and that is what you will really use.

What are you looking forward to the most on this trip?

Networking with all the delegates and getting to understand a bit better what the US Insurance Industry is about.

Tell us something fun about yourself that most people don’t know?

According to my friends and family, I can strike up a conversation with any stranger and it only takes one glass of wine…………

What is the one thing that you cannot travel without?

My Kindle.

If you could live in any other country where would you live?

Spain today, an island in 10 years.

What country has the best food?

Thailand.

What is your least favourite thing about travelling?

Blocked ears and germs circulating in the plane.

How will u be putting the SA in the USA?

I’m walking on Sunshine.

Stay tuned as we feature the next #IIGlobal2019 delegate..
