“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest!” – Benjamin Franklin
For the year of #2025AndALive, the Insurance Institute of Gauteng #IIG is continuing with the engaging Insights sessions. Rebranded as #WednesdayWisdom for 2025, the webinars and in-person sessions will cover a wide range of topics relevant to the insurance industry at large, the economy and society.
With one of the IIG’s Strategic Pillars being Education, and with the ever-changing insurance and risk landscape, connecting subject matter experts with the broader insurance community has become even more important. Throughout the year, the IIG will be hosting 14 #WednesdayWisdom webinars with 2 in-person events aimed at #Engaging through the exchange of knowledge, #Connecting insurers, brokers & clients, and ensuring the continued #Growth of our industry.
We begin the year with the eagerly anticipated flagship event, The Industry Outlook (click HERE to register), an in-person event, taking place on April 2nd 2025 at 10:00am with Guest Speakers Arthur James (Partner) & Nicole Britton (Partner) from our hosts & event sponsors; Clyde & Co. We will start this year of Insights with the theme; Insurance Impact: Regulatory Outlook & Admiralty dispute involving Cryptocurrency. This promises to be an extremely interactive session to kick off the year of #Insights with robust debate & discussion, and an opportunity to network with industry colleagues and #YourIIG.
This year, we aim to elevate the learning experience for all attendees and will be discussing topics across the insurance value-chain, equipping all participants with valuable knowledge and insights. A change from previous years for 2025, is that the IIG will be hosting 2 webinars every month this year, with speakers from the industry discussing a range of topics impacting the industry and later in the year, there will be another #In-person session in October 2025. All of these sessions will provide registered attendees with valuable Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points throughout the year and promote knowledge sharing within the industry.
The insurance industry is evolving faster than ever, driven by regulatory change, emerging risks, and new technologies and the aim of #YourIIG is to ensure that there is a platform available for insurance professionals to continuously learn and develop their industry knowledge, and technical skills to better service our clients and provide resilience to the economy. The Industry Outlook event is setting the tone for the education initiatives being delivered this year. The IIG promotes education, and the #WednesdayWisdom sessions will provide an excellent platform for professionals to stay up to date on industry trends, enhance their skills and expand their professional networks, so stay close to The IIG on all social media platforms and look out for the announcements about upcoming events.
