The Class of 2021 Programme really lived the Be The Difference theme and so did our sponsors!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Centriq Insurance for their generous R60 000.00 contribution to the Silent Auction held at the IIG 79th Annual Dinner. Centriq Insurance bought 15 beautiful paintings that were painted by learners from both Fon Luminus in Diepkloof and Maphuta Secondary School in Thembisa. Funds raised will be sponsored to the schools!
The 28 delegates in Class of 2021 were once split into 2 classes (or tribes) – The Saiyans and Ad Astra tribs
While the modules of the programme assisted them with personal and professional growth, they were also tasked as part of their charity responsibilities, to choose a school of their choice from a previously disadvantaged area and raise money and donate time. They had to work closely with the schools to determine their needs.
Both tribes held career days where learners of both schools were introduced to the short term insurance industry, career streams as well as leadership and other employment opportunities.
A truly unbelievable gesture from Centriq, not only supporting two schools but also encouraging the budding artists!
