What a time to be alive: dawn-of-a-new-day for our young aspiring insurance leaders

There’s just something new about a new year for most ambitious people. This remains a reality for individuals who are intentional about seeing and experiencing greater heights in their careers. The insurance industry is no different, it hosts professionals who are always aspiring towards opportunities for change and growth.  The Insurance Institute of Gauteng keeps itself aligned to the needs of the insurance industry by creating versatile platforms to contribute to the empowerment of our young aspiring leaders.  The Roots and Wings platform remains committed to promoting education, expertise, and personal growth through compatible transformation of mentors and their mentees.

Expanding to international frontiers remain one of our biggest highlights from the previous successful year. The former year also produced a great cohort of graduates through the same program.

This new year offers another opportunity to the IIG to launch young professionals into a sphere of great leadership and exponential career progression.

This new year offers another opportunity to the IIG to launch young professionals into a sphere of great leadership and exponential career progression. The structure of the journey is thoughtfully curated to develop and improve the mentees’ business acumen abilities and enable them to handle challenges in their careers.

The Roots and Wings team’s appreciation goes towards the industry for responding to the call of action to constantly devote to the career advancement of the young people of South Africa.  In no time, an announcement of our successful mentees for 2024 will be published together with their mentors.  With the support of our incredible learning partners, LCA; we look forward to the pairing of mentorship duos which will take place in the first quarter of 2024. The mentees’ growth path encompasses both their professional and personal maturity.

The Insurance Institute of Gauteng together with all participating industry partners continue to embrace a culture of learning and creating sustainable solutions for our industry.  This cycle of learning and collaboration is rapidly changing the landscape of the insurance industry. The emphasis has moved from just being a profitable business to a university of professionals who are actively participating in building the IIG’s strategic pillars, i.e. Education, Networking, Transformation and Affiliation.
